CALLED; A biblical term denoting persons who have accepted Christ as Lord and have responded to his invitation to follow him, yet most choose to know him only superficially and to honor him from the lips and not from the heart. This condition has disastrous consequences for the soul. Luke 6:46,49; Matthew 7:21-23,26-27.
ELECT; The few individuals who are willing to pay the price to know Christ so thoroughly they enjoy eternal life here and now. Matthew 22:14; 7:24-25; John 20:22; 17:3; Luke 6:47-48; 24:45.
The Elect are known by three names in the Bible: as little children, as servants, and as the elect.
